Due to an increase in demand Briar Guard Heroes will be moving to quarterly events consisting of two paired sessions, the last Saturday of one month & the first Saturday of the next, starting with our Summer event at the end of July and beginning of August. Members are only permitted to register and attend one of these two sessions, not both. You will need to choose one session or the other when ordering your free tickets through eventbrite.com This will allow us to split the group up and make for a better experience for all.
It is vital to remember that it is mandatory for all youth under 16 to have an adult present at the event and all children under 13 to have an adult sitting at the table with them. The adult in these cases would preferably be a parent or guardian; remember that older siblings, cousins, friends, etc. that are also youth under 21 will not be accepted as a replacement for this role. There are no exceptions.
Due to the volume of youth in the store, we cannot allow unsupervised under 16 to play at these events. If your child is under 13, then you will need to make sure that you order a ticket for an adult to accompany them. Failure to do so will result in the child being unable to participate in that event if there is not space for their accompanying adult. Adult participants should be there to help their children learn how to play their character, make Heroic decisions, and possibly play a support character. This will help foster better supervision at the table and create a stronger bond between the parent and child.
We look forward to seeing you and your child at one of our next events. With these changes we hope to better foster an environment that is conducive to teaching youth to use their imaginations for collaborative storytelling, as well as to learn teamwork, creative problem solving & tactical thinking, all while strengthening the bond between parent and child.
